Dollar's Free Vaccination Drive for Employees & Families

Dollar Industries Limited partnered with the Government of West Bengal to launch a free vaccination initiative for its employees and their families. With the well-being of our team and their loved ones in mind, Dollar’s vaccination campaign successfully administered the first dose to approximately 1500 individuals. This effort spanned across three locations: Dollar’s Head Office in Kolkata, along with its manufacturing units in Barasat and Agarpara.

Dollar Foundation, the incredible force behind Dollar Industries Limited, decided to rock Women’s Day with a bang by tackling menstrual hygiene head-on! In our epic #BeFreeBeYou campaign, we handed out 2000 packs of sanitary napkins to women living in city slums. We covered areas like Topsia, Tangra, Beliaghata, Baghbazar, Sovabazar, Nimtala, Tollygunge, Swabhumi, Ultadanga, and Phoolbagan – we’ve got the whole squad!

 

But this isn’t just a handout; it’s an extension of our #BeFreeBeYou mission. We’re on a quest to boost the confidence and freedom of underprivileged women. With this move, Dollar Industries Limited is here to shatter those outdated period myths and give women the power to rock their lives – healthier, fuller, and totally free.

Dollar Industries Limited teamed up with the Metro Rail Authority (DMRA) to install water kiosks at 22 metro stations in New Delhi, providing clean drinking water for all. This move showcased Dollar Industries Limited’s commitment as a responsible corporate, fulfilling its societal duties. Recognizing the vital role of water in people’s lives, this initiative positively impacted the daily routines of thousands of commuters. Dollar’s vision extended beyond Delhi, with plans to replicate this initiative in major metro cities like Chennai, Jaipur, Nagpur, and Lucknow. In its second phase, Dollar successfully covered an additional 100 metro stations in New Delhi over 8 months.

Contributing to the safety and well-being of our dedicated forces, Dollar Industries donated Anti-Viral Face Masks to Paramilitary Forces

As part of Dollar’s corporate social responsibility, Dollar Foundation generously donated 2000 anti-viral masks to our frontline heroes at CRPF and CISF in New Delhi. Dollar recently introduced its anti-viral range of masks and innerwear for men in partnership with HealthGuard, Australia. With the COVID-19 pandemic sweeping across the country, our warriors at CRPF and CISF have been instrumental in maintaining law and order during these challenging times. As proud Indians, we salute these frontline COVID warriors for their indispensable services. To show our respect and support, Dollar Industries Limited shared their newly introduced anti-viral masks with the Central Industrial Reserve Force (CISF) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), contributing to our collective fight against the virus.

Dollar Industries Ltd. Extends Help to People Affected Due To COVID-19 Pandemic

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Dollar Industries Limited stepped up its commitment to society through its CSR initiatives and welfare programs. In fulfilling its corporate social responsibility, Dollar Foundation partnered with Kolkata Police to provide essential support to the underprivileged in 60 wards. The company distributed 6,000 kilograms of rice, 40,000 packets of biscuits, 40,000 masks, and 10,000 soap bars to those in need during the nationwide lockdown.

 

Furthermore, Dollar Industries Limited extended its support by offering food and shelter to 300 migrant workers at its manufacturing unit in Tirupur, ensuring their well-being during these challenging times.

A Fund Raising Initiative for ‘Treatment of Cancer Patients’ and a Cleaner & Greener Tirupur

On November 17, 2019, Dollar Foundation hosted its inaugural plog run in Tirupur—an initiative aimed at supporting ‘Treatment of Cancer Patients’ and promoting eco-friendly practices. Embracing the core values of ‘Green India, Fit India,’ this initiative saw an impressive turnout of over 3500 participants who not only ran but also collected dry waste along the route, which was later handed over to the Dollar team. To recognize their efforts, certificates, medals, and organic shopping bags were awarded to the first 2000 participants.

The plog run kicked off from A.V. P. Trust Senior Secondary School in Gandhi Nagar, Tirupur, in the presence of Mr. Binay Kumar Gupta, Managing Director, Mr. Bajrang Kumar Gupta, Whole-time Director, Mr. Gaurav Gupta, Vice President, and Ms. Pallavi Gupta, Vice President, from Dollar Industries Ltd. The event was also graced by the Honorable District Collector, Commissioner of Police, and Commissioner of Corporation, Tirupur.

#BeFreeBeYou Campaign

In many parts of India, menstruation remains a taboo subject, but Dollar Industries Limited took a bold step to break the silence. For girls from low socio-economic backgrounds, discussing menstruation is often a daunting challenge, with some even considering it a ‘problem.’ In collaboration with SEED (Society for Socio Economic and Ecological Development), Dollar Industries Limited launched the #BeFreeBeYou campaign as part of its CSR initiative. This campaign aimed to enhance the menstrual hygiene of underprivileged girls by installing sanitary napkin vending machines in government schools across West Bengal. The first phase of this initiative saw the installation of 100 sanitary napkin vending machines in Kolkata and suburban areas, making quality sanitary napkins accessible at a nominal cost.
