Dollar Industries Limited stands out as India's unique hosiery and knitwear brand with a complete in-house production facility. Committed to sustainability, the company prioritizes eco-friendly methods and renewable energy. Between 2008 and 2013, Dollar Industries took a significant step by setting up four windmills, boasting a combined capacity of 4.95 MW. These windmills are capable of producing around 70 lakh units of power each year.
In 2020, Dollar took a significant step towards sustainability by launching a 4 MW solar power plant at their Tirupur manufacturing facility. This initiative is a key part of Dollar's 'Green Mission'. The plant is designed to generate 75 lakh power units yearly, aiming not just to cut costs but to also make the Tirupur spinning unit sustainable and self-sufficient. Additionally, this solar plant contributes to environmental protection by reducing CO2 emissions by 9000 kgs per day, furthering Dollar's commitment to a sustainable future.
Furthermore, Dollar has invested in an advanced effluent treatment plant that ensures zero liquid discharge. This facility, capable of processing about 13.5 tons daily, is equipped with six High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT) machines. The plant boasts a 1000 KL Zero Liquid Discharge capacity, featuring multiple evaporators. It adheres strictly to the Pollution Control Board (PCB) norms, complies with labor laws, and maintains various quality systems, underlining Dollar's commitment to environmental responsibility and ethical practices.
